I'm so glad Billi can communicate with you. My cat has asthma, though generally well controlled. She also has a habit of trying to shift her buttons into "feed me" buttons (we've never had food related words), so whenever she presses something that seems out of context, I'm doubtful about her actual intentions. We have an "inhaler" button, though since figuring out a trigger to her attacks last summer, we haven't had to use it regularly anymore. I've seen her have only a few attacks in the last 6 months. And curiously, she's pressed her "inhaler" button before they happened. Admittedly, I brushed her off because there was no clear reason to expect her to actually need the inhaler. I honestly don't know if she can make the link to the inhaler making it easier to breathe or not, but now that summer is here (when her attacks are most frequent), I'm paying a lot more attention and am using the inhaler whenever she requests it now.

It makes me so sad that you have to be preparing for this, but I am incredibly glad you're putting quality of life over quantity. Additionally, this video makes me want to buy buttons for my dogs. I'm not sure they'd pick up on it, but I'm glad it made your communication much easier.

My lady has just entered stage 3 and watching Billie's journey gives us something to aim for. Sometimes I worry that I'm prolonging the inevitable. but I just want her to be comfortable and as happy as she can be.

If I can offer a suggestion? Would kitten milk be palatable for Billi? My neighbour's elderly cat was refusing food and it was suggested to try it. She enjoys a small bowl little and often, but has also recommenced eating food. It might help get some essential vitamins and minerals into her system while being gentle on her kidneys and stomach. Wishing you all the very best. She's an amazing girl.

Oh goodness, I don't know what to say. Billie has been a source of comfort for me for years. She's so smart and sweet, and her videos have always helped when I was missing my own fur babies. I know that there are many others who love Billie, but nothing truly compares to her human Mum and Dad. I truly appreciate you sharing her with the world. You can tell she is a very happy, well-loved kitty. Wishing the Billie family all the love, health, and happiness ♥

Its sad to see her fading, and so beautiful to see how graciously you let her spend her time being loved, indulged and comforted. When she is gone, there will be a Billi shaped hole in many of our lives. Thank you and Billi for demonstrating to the world at large that cats are brighter, more attached, more loving and more creatively individual than much of the world supposed. Her memorial will be her contribution to broadening our knowledge of cats and how they learn and perceive. And for those of us that already knew it, and only lacked the venue to find proof, we salute you all. Billi is what my husband would have called a little girl in a cat suit. Love

I used to be my Truffles furniture. She died at the age of 23 a couple years ago. I miss being furniture so much. I still sob when I think about having to let her go.

I've been told that animals don't have a soul and won't be with us in heaven. I don't know for sure but I see no reason I shouldn't pray for animals, and I do, regularly. I have always prayed for Billi and for you and your husband when the day comes that Billi is gone. I've been there many times and it's never easy for anyone but for you guys with the ability to actually talk with your pets I believe it might be harder to let go. Not because you love them more, but because you have a more intimate understanding of their personalities. So, I pray for Billis' peaceful passing and for Jesus' comfort over both of you at that time. In Jesus name, amen
